Hi!
I'm Sophy and I'm the proud owner/author/creator/writer/artist of Deuces Wild

I can often be seen listening to heavy metal or watching cartoons or wow go figure, drawing comic pages or reading webcomics. That is, when I'm not working and pretending I'm in Clerks.

WHOOOOO!!! I finally got my project wonderful code. If you want to advertise on Deuces Wild you should check it out.

Also, I have a links page for link exchanges. I like 200 by 40px buttons, hit me up if you want to be in on it.

If your looking for a new update system, I'd say install WordPress (wordpress.com) and then upload Tyler Martin's "ComicPress" template. It makes updating a breeze.

Hope that helps! :)

The site is looking pretty good! simple and easy enough to navigate... though there seems to be a coding glitch that's making your Disclaimer appear on top of the News postings.

lol. I wonder how many people saw that... Anyway I had optimized it for mozilla forgetting to check it in IE and IE for some reason doesn't like tables much. I mean it was (still is) eating the top half of the NEWS FLASH section. NO fucking clue why. Thanks for letting me know

RE: Come rip my site a new one

Good: Simplicity. Good site design/layout should always come before useless flashy graphics and flash content and you've got that down.

Bad: The navigation bar disappears when viewing the actual comic pages. Couldn't hurt to maybe put a smaller one below it and the first/previous/next/latest buttons.

That IS on my to do list, but unfortunatley I have to either figure out how to do a feed for the navigation bar, or come up with one that will never ever ever change and then copy and paste it on all pages accordingly. If you know how to do that by hand coding html please let me know because it would make my life SO much easier and I could fix the problem without worrying about if I want to edit the navigation bar or not.

Can't say I do, sorry. The only thing I could suggest is to see if you can implement a template page for your pages, that way you just need to put all the navigation on it and switch out which actual comic page is displayed. Outside of something like Dreamweaver I'm not sure how you'd go about doing that, though, sorry.
Your other option could be to have the nav bar seperate using frames, but frames are the devil, and you'd probably be better off leaving it as-is rather than use them.

[ Posted by Dynamic on Jan 28th, 2007 9:11 PM ]...

yeah I don't want to even TOUCH frames. I hate websites with them, no matter what the subject matter is and I wish they would all burn in hell. I think the solution would be to find a scripting tool, unfortunatley the downside is I'm afraid of installing one because I don't want to fuck up my website.

No, I didn't add you to check my work out, I am a true blue Comic fan only, no lifelong ambitions to write or draw, or edit, or illustrate or ink or pencil, or, well you get the point! Just waiting for Josh to work out some of the bugs before giving over my life to comicspace!

[ Posted by steven_yarbrough on Jan 13th, 2007 2:41 AM ]...

I think I actually liked your handdrawn style better then the digital pages. They're really nice and clean and your style translated really well though. If digital art is where you really want to take your comic then there's no time like the present! I just think you could make your work even better faster by still drawing it by hand. Keep it up :)

[ Posted by mayshing on Jan 13th, 2007 12:25 AM ]...

I browsed your work.
Very clean, especially when you switched to digital at the newest page, it works much better to your current style.
While you still have alot to pick up on your skill, I can see you put your heart into making the best you can at the moment, keep it up, and keep drawing no matter how big, how small your audience. There's always a time when you are unknown, and when you work hard enough, attention will come.
